Farmingdale - DII Weekend Preview: DVCHC Eastern Showdown

This weekend, the Farmingdale State Rams will be competing in three games as part of the DVCHC Eastern Showdown. They'll be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Their first game will take place on Friday against the Penn State University-Harrisburg Nittany Lions. The Nittany Lions have an 11-5 record and are in possession of first place in the Delaware Valley Conference. Jake Stasyk leads Penn State-Harrisburg with 20 points and has a team-high 10 assists. Andrew Szebalskie has a team-leading12 goals for the Nittany Lions and 18 points overall. In addition to Stasyk and Szebalskie, the Nittany Lions have seven other players with at least 10 points this season. The Rams faced the Nittany Lions in their first game of the season on the road. It was a thrilling game in which the Rams won by a 7-6 final score. The game will take place at 11:30 a.m. and can be viewed on LiveBarn. 

On Saturday, the Rams will take on the Kutztown University Bears for the first time this season. The Bears own a 6-8-2 record and currently sit in fourth place in the Delaware Valley Conference. Chase Canestra leads the Bears in every offensive category, putting up 11 goals and eights assists for 19 total points. Stephen Graney is also a threat for the team, ranking second in goals scored with a team-high power play markers. The Rams were winless in their two meetings against the Bears last season. In their final game of the weekend on Sunday, Farmingdale will face the Mass. Maritime Academy Buccaneers for the first time this season. The Buccaneers are 9-3 this season and own first place in the New England Conference. Leading the way for the Buccaneers is Aidan Weir, who has a team-high 12 points. Daniel Kane leads the team with nine goals, and Colin Campbell has a team-leading six assists. This will mark the first ever meeting between the Mass. Maritime Buccaneers and the Farmingdale State Rams. The game will take place at 9:15 a.m. and can be viewed on LiveBarn.
