Weekend Preview: Farmingdale - DII Faces Stony Brook and Hofstra
After a week off, the Farmingdale State Rams Division II hockey team will return to action this weekend. They'll be facing off against two of their Long Island rivals, one on the road and one at home.
On Friday, the Rams will be playing a road game against the Stony Brook Seawolves Division III team. The Rams and the Seawolves have split the season series, with each team picking up a win on their home ice. Each previous game has also featured a hat trick from the winning club. Nikita Vorotnikov completed a hat trick in the Seawolves' win while Nicholas D'Alessandro completed one in the Rams' victory. This meeting will serve as the rubber game in the series as this will be the final meeting between Farmingdale and Stony Brook this season. The game will take place at Islanders Iceworks at 9:30 p.m. and can be viewed on LiveBarn.
Saturday's game will see the Rams host the Hofstra Pride Division III team. The Rams have won both of their games against the Pride this season and will be looking to sweep the season series. They'll also be looking to extend a six-game winning streak over Hofstra that dates back to last season. The Pride will be led by Matthew Materazo, whose 28 points is sixth in the Division III rankings this season. Him along with the high scoring duo of James Van Eron and Jordan Cox will be vying to end their losing streak against Farmingdale. The game will take place at Islanders Iceworks at 9:30 p.m. and can be viewed on LiveBarn.
