Weekend Preview: Farmingdale - DII Takes On Hofstra and Sacred Heart
The 7-1 Farmingdale State Rams Division II Hockey Team returns to action this weekend on the road. On Saturday, they'll be visiting the Hofstra Pride Division III team. The Pride are 6-3 and in possession of first place in the Division III Empire Conference. Matthew Materazo leads the Hofstra with 23 points, followed by James Van Eron who has 19 points along with a team-high 10 goals. Farmingdale swept Hofstra across their four matchups in 2022-23, with two of the four games being decided by one goal. The game will take place at Freeport Recreation Center at 8:30 p.m. and can be viewed on LiveBarn.
Sunday's game will feature a meeting between the Empire Conference's top teams as Farmingdale visits Sacred Heart. The Pioneers have a 4-1 record and are six points behind the Rams in the standings with games in hand. While no player on their team has crossed the double-digit threshold in points, they get contributions from all around their roster. Jason Bonante leads the team with four goals and Alexander Giuliano has a team-high five assists. The Rams swept the Pioneers in three games last season, shutting them out twice. The game will take place at Martire Family Arena at 5:45 p.m. and can be viewed on LiveBarn.
